O1 - add funds to a project wallet

join a project

your Contractor opens & programs the project wallet and sends you an invite.

that invite is your entry point — it connects you to the project wallet as the Owner

how to join:

1.   open the invite email from your Contractor and click the link.

2.   create your buildwallet account (or login if you already have one).

3.   you're in. you'll land on the project page where you can see the team, the contract in progress, and the project wallet.

💡 make sure you've completed your identity verification before joining — you'll need it to move funds.

approve the contract

before any money moves, your Contractor will submit the full scope of work for your review. the contract is structured by phase — each phase contains the line items (labor, material, overhead) that define exactly what gets built and what it costs. this is your moment to review every detail before you approve.

approving the contract locks in the scope, activates the project, and sets the RAILS in place.

how to approve:

1.   open the contract from your project page and review each phase and line item.

2.   when you're satisfied, tap “approve contract” to confirm.

3.   the project then activates. wallets are created and rails are locked.

⚠️  once approved, changes to scope or cost require a change order

add funds from your wallet

with the contract approved, it's time to fund the dedicated project wallet — they cannot be used anywhere else, by anyone, for any reason. you don't have to fund the full contract up front; add what you need as phases start and top up the project wallet as the job progresses and new phases require funding.

how to add funds:

1.   from the project page, tap “add funds” in the project wallet.

2.   enter the amount and tap continue.

3.   approve the transfer on your mobile device.

4.   funds move from your user wallet into the project wallet instantly. your Contractor is notified.

💡 you can add funds as many times as you need. on closeout, any balance returns to the Owner.
