L1 - add funds to a project wallet

join a project wallet

the Owner or Contractor will send you an invite to join the project. accepting it connects you as the Lender and gives you full visibility into the project wallet, phase structure, and progress from day one.

how to join:

1.   open the invite email and click the link.

2.   create your buildwallet account (or login if you already have one) and complete identity verification.

3.   you're in. you'll land on the project page with full visibility into the wallet balance, phase status, and project wall.

💡 make sure your mobile wallet setup and identity verification are complete before joining — you'll need both to move funds.

add funds to the project wallet

once you're on the project, you can fund the project wallet directly from your user wallet. buildwallet tracks every contribution — on closeout, any surplus funds are returned to the party that put them in.

how to add funds:

1.   from the project page, tap fund project wallet.

2.   enter the amount and tap continue.

3.   approve the transfer on your mobile device.

4.   funds move from your user wallet into the project wallet instantly. the Owner and Contractor are notified.

💡 you and the Owner can each fund the project wallet independently. buildwallet tracks who contributed what so returns at closeout are accurate.

monitor project progress

between funding and closeout, your job is to stay informed. buildwallet gives you real-time visibility into where the project stands at any moment — no calls, no draw requests, no waiting.

phase status

each phase moves through a clear sequence of status markers so you always know where the work stands:

awaiting funds  — the phase has been coded in the contract but not yet funded by the Owner.

funded  — the Owner has released funds into the phase. the Contractor is cleared to begin work.

contracted  — the Contractor has issued subcontracts. work is underway.

contractor approved  — all invoices in the phase have been paid. the Contractor has submitted the phase for Owner review.

completed  — the Owner has approved the phase and the Contractor's overhead & profit has been released. the phase is locked and archived.

the project wall

every photo submitted with a Sub or Supplier invoice flows automatically to the project wall — visible to everyone on the project, including you. as phases progress, the project wall builds into a live, visual record of the job: what was done, when it was done, and what it looked like at every step.

three photos are required with every invoice submission. over the course of a project, the wall becomes a complete, timestamped documentation of the build — far more detailed than any traditional draw inspection.

💡 the project wall is your eyes on the job site. you don't need to schedule an inspection to know what's happening — it's all there, in real time.
