once your Owner funds a phase, you're cleared to put your team to work. this is where you distribute the phase funding — turning each labor and material line item into a funded subcontract with preset invoices for your Subs and Suppliers. their goals are set, their rewards are loaded, and the RAILS are ready to run.
distribute phase funding to subcontracts
each line item in a funded phase has its own wallet. you have to distribute the Owner’s funding to each subcontracts.
how to distribute funding:
1. open the funded phase
2. tap “distribute funds”
3. approve each distribution from your mobile wallet
issue funded subcontracts (w/ invoices)
every subcontract needs preset invoices — the payment milestones you define for your Sub or Supplier. they review and respond to your proposal before anything is locked in. once accepted, the invoices are set and payment flows automatically when work is done.
how to issue invoices:
1. from the subcontract, tap add invoice.
2. for each payment milestone, enter the amount, payment term (e.g. "on delivery", "50% deposit", "on completion"), and an optional due date.
3. save. the Sub or Supplier is notified that their subcontract and preset invoices are ready for review.
💡 subcontractors can have up to 15 preset invoices for structured milestone payments. Suppliers typically use one to three invoices tied to delivery terms.
💡 because subcontracts are pre-funded before work begins, your Suppliers can process orders without extending credit. the funds are already in escrow.
💡 a subcontract budget cannot exceed the funded balance of its line item.
recall (if needed)
if a Sub or Supplier doesn't respond to their subcontract, you don't have to wait. recall it, free up the spot, and reassign to someone who's ready — all without disrupting the rest of the project.
how to recall:
1. open the subcontract and tap recall.
2. confirm the recall. the subcontract is voided and the funds return to the line item wallet.
3. issue a new subcontract to a different Sub or Supplier.
